Being an attendant of a number of Jewish weddings I have gathered a little idea about it and would like to share it with you folks. It all starts from the week preceding the wedding and both the bride and groom go through several steps. They start with visiting houses of their relatives and friends of their parents where they are blessed with gifts. This is an extraordinary journey for both the young souls as they are accompanied by their female and male friends respectively. A wedding is certainly a ceremony of joy but sense of sorrow gets blended with it, specially for the bride’s family as their beloved daughter leave her family to join the groom’s family. The groom too gets out of his family to become a member of bride’s home.
